ILP Participation - Leading With Emotional Intelligence

I watched a Lynda tutorial about emotional intelligence in the business world, but I felt like it was also really applicable for teachers. It was a five part course, and each section focused on different ways to be an effective leader and to utilize your emotional intelligence in the work setting.

  1. Penny, I really like your ILP! It was so interesting to hear about, especially with the tips about how to hone your emotions so that you don't lash out to students when they test you. I think that all teachers need to learn about this because from my experience, I didn't have the best time learning from the teachers who lashed out, and I really remember the teachers who took their emotions away during school hours on a happier note.

  2. Penny, I liked your ILP a lot! Your topic is so interesting and so important and I feel like it is not addressed enough so it's great that your starting a conversation about it! I like how you focus on how the teachers have to deal with their emotions as well as the students, it is a two way street. I like how you show this interaction between student and teacher and how both have to work together to create the best environment possible.
